William Roberts

Senior Consultant

William is a former media advisor to the Federal Government with extensive experience providing strategic advice on sensitive media issues, crisis support, and stakeholder engagement. At the 2016 Federal Election, he developed and implemented an overarching media strategy and communications plan for a key marginal seat in Western Sydney.

Prior to joining Cannings, he was Public Affairs Manager at the Australian Beverages Council, where he managed all public, corporate, and government engagement programs; promoted key policies and campaigns in the media and to stakeholder groups; and created a strategic plan to help improve the non-alcoholic beverage industry’s public reputation.

William has a PhD in Media Communications from the University of Sydney, and is also a recipient of a number of academic awards, including The Australian Press Council Prize and The International Association of Literary Journalism Studies Best Research Paper.
